Handcrafted burl bowls and baskets from Mossy Grove in Maine's North Woods.
Tucked in Maine's northern woods is Mossy Grove, home to Donald and Pati Deschene's business known as Mossy Grove Basket ~n~ Woodart. Baskets and burl bowls of any type are inspired by the serene atmosphere created by the woods of Mossy Grove.
Having built their own home with wood from their property, Donald found it natural to continue to work with his hands and the burls the trees provided him through the wonder of nature.
Here Pati is working on one of her baskets with reeds of ash. For those baskets with color, Pati hand dyes her own reeds for a unique look.
